New Breed, a third-party logistics company, today announced that it has received the prestigious Boeing Supplier of the Year award in the Aerospace Support category. New Breed was one of 11 companies honored Wednesday evening at Boeing’s annual supplier award ceremony held at the Harbor Club in Bellevue, Wash.

“We are pleased to recognize the achievements of these 11 suppliers for reaching extraordinary levels of performance and quality, and becoming the best in the Boeing supply chain,” said master of ceremonies Steve Schaffer, functional leader of Supplier Management for Boeing and vice president and general manager of Global Partners, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “Boeing’s ongoing commitment to working together with our partners helps us meet the high standards for quality, productivity and efficiency that our customers deserve and our competitive business environment demands.”

New Breed supports Boeing’s F/A-18 Integrated Readiness Support Teaming, or FIRST, program, as well as spares and repairs programs for the H-46 rotorcraft, Japan and Italy KC-767 tankers, the USAF and Korean F-15s, the C-17 and the F-22. Additionally, the company provides parts kitting and line-side delivery services for new-build military rotorcraft programs at Boeing’s Philadelphia manufacturing site, as well as for the commercial 787 Dreamliner assembly in Everett, Wash.

“It is a great honor to be selected Boeing Supplier of the Year, and to be considered ‘the best in the Boeing supply chain’ for our aerospace support programs,” said Louis DeJoy, New Breed’s Chairman & CEO. “This is truly a testament to the dedication and hard work of our employees, and their focus on quality and performance. Their creativity and energy has enabled us to provide innovative solutions to our clients.”

The companies named 2006 Boeing Suppliers of the Year were selected from a field of more than 27,000 Boeing suppliers in nearly 100 countries. Awards were presented in 11 categories: Avionics, Electronics/Hydraulic/Mechanical, Major Structures, Purchased Outside Production, Common Aerospace Commodities, Aerospace Support, Non-Production/Shared Service Group, Technology, Diversity/Small Woman Business Enterprise, Diversity/Small Minority Business Enterprise, Diversity/Boeing Protégé.

The winning suppliers were chosen on the basis of statistical measurements of quality, on-time delivery, post-delivery support and cost during a 12-month period up to September 2006. They also were evaluated on their ability to anticipate and respond to changing customer requirements.
