New Breed Recognized by United Technologies for ACE Quality Designation

UTC News, a publication of United Technologies Corporation, recognized New Breed as the first supplier of Hamilton Sundstrand (a UTC business unit) to meet the rigorous criteria of UTC's ACE quality program. ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence) is UTC's proprietary operating system to ensure world class quality in products and processes. The article appeared in an October 2006 issue of The UTC News.

October 13, 2006 -- New Breed Logistics, a Rockford, Illinois-based supplier that serves HS' Rockford facility has become the first HS supplier to reach the qualifying level of ACE.

New Breed Logistics serves HS' Rockford facility as a forward stocking location for vendor-owned and HS-owned hardware. They also provide kitting to Electric Systems¿ Integrated Drive Generator, Constant Speed Drive and Generator Development areas

The assessment was performed on Friday, Sept. 29, by Shelley Vesely of the HS Rockford ACE Program Office, and Don Olson, supervisor receiving inspection, Electric Systems and ITO University instructor. The award presentation was held later that day, with the entire New Breed - Rockford staff. The award was accepted by corporate guest Jeff Hendricks, vice president of Aerospace Sales. The award was presented by Clif Jacobs, HS vice president and general manager, Electric Systems. Also in attendance from HS were Al Worthington, plant manager, Electric Systems; Jaime Puente, Electric Systems program Quality manager; and Casey Van Horn, Electric Systems material manager.

New Breed plans to continue on the road to ACE Gold certification with their next step being a Bronze assessment, targeted for the end of the year.
